This book, currently available for loan from the Genesee Elementary Library, provides a wealth of ideas for opportunities to foster global competency in students. In addition to over fifty practical activities, there are chapters on infusing global learning into specific subject areas, while aligning with common core standards, technology tools that can be used to connect with the world, and service learning with a global focus.

This resource provides a step-by-step process for teachers who want to integrate global education into their classrooms! For teachers, they provide a  lesson builder template that can be completed as they plan their unit. The site provides how to videos on how to use the template, model lessons from other teachers, and ideas for future lesson topics. For students, this is a great starting point to see what is going on in the world. With the countless videos and articles that can be found right on the home page, students will get first hand accounts of current global issues; as well as possible research ideas, topics, or questions.

Reach The World - Matching volunteer travelers (researchers, etc) with Classrooms

The Global Oneness Project - "The Global Oneness Project aims to connect students through stories from the local human experience to global meta-level issues, such as: climate change, water scarcity, food insecurity, poverty, endangered cultures, migration, and sustainability, among others. Through featuring individuals and communities impacted by these issues, their stories and lessons provide opportunities to examine universal themes that emphasize our common humanity—identity, diversity, hope, resilience, imagination, adversity, empathy, love, and responsibility. The curriculum, available in both English and Spanish, contains an interdisciplinary approach to learning and facilitates the development of students’ critical thinking, inquiry, empathy, and listening skills."
